About the event

Hot Nozzle Society's third annual rocket launch event! We strive to create a welcoming, entertaining, inclusive, and safe environment for anyone interested in learning about rocketry to come out, and watch learn and even fly both low-powered and high-powered rockets! This year we're flying at Friends of Amateur Rocketry (FAR) in California (2 hours North of LA). At our California-based event, you will have the opportunity to launch rockets, attend fun workshops and competitions, spend time with other enthusiastic Nozzlers, and much more. We can't wait to see you all in the Desert! Please visit our hosting club FAR for more rocketry rules and regulations for the event.

We can guarantee all Rockets with 'L' impulse and below that are built to the NAR Safety Code can fly, but will have to make special arrangements for anything larger than that.

Costumes and Spooky-themed rockets are encouraged but not required, and the best costume and best-decorated rocket will receive an award. Please remember this event is family-friendly and costumes need to be appropriate for all ages!

On-site camping is encouraged but not required, and regulations for camping at FAR can be found on their Camping sub-page.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • To attend as a spectator you MUST get the spectator ticket. You will NOT be allowed on-site without a ticket.
  • While FAR allows rocketeers to build rockets to Tripoli standards we please ask that whatever you bring to fly qualifies for a safe launch under the NAR Safety Code as we are a primarily NAR organization. Additionally, Loki Motors won't be allowed to fly at the event as their commercial motors and reloads aren't certified in the state of California.
